The Harris, T.W. mss., 20th cent., are the drafts and proof copy for the novel, Tumatumari, by Theodore Wilson Harris. Harris was born March 24, 1921, in British Guiana, attended Queen's College in Georgetown, and studied surveying. Engaged for a period of time in serveral surveying projects, he came to live in London in 1959. He has served as writer-in-residence in British Guiana and as visiting lecturer in the United States. His writings often draw upon his Caribbean background. Tumatumari was published by Faber and Faber, London, in 1968.
