General notes

Correspondence and related papers of some leading West Indian writers and publishers dating from the early 1960s to 2000.

V.S. Naipaul features at folder level along with 17 other of AW's corespondents. However, there is a note inside the folder from the archivist stating that the documents have gone missing.

Content notes

Naipaul was contacted by AW when he was visiting Jamaica for his first travel book, The Middle Passage. AW was teaching there and invited him to speak to the school's newly formed PEN Club. See his very civil reply, from Frenchman's Cove Hotel.
