Harris corresponded with AW through her inclusion of his poem ‘Death of Hector, Tamer of Horses’ in The Sun’s Eye (refused for revised edition). Met and corresponded regularly thereafter, especially through shared interest and admiration for the work of the artist Aubrey Williams, a fellow Guyanese.
