Content notes

The letters in this folder relate to the following publications from 1965 onwards. Brathwaite met AW in 1965, as contributor of poem 'The Pawpaw' to her first anthology, The Sun's Eye, then as series editor of secondary school history textbooks The People Who Came, for Longmans where AW was Caribbean publisher (1966 - 76): especially through the Caribbean Artists Movement which AW later researched and documented as The Caribbean Artists Movement 1966 - 72: a literary and cultural history. Contributed Preface to her second anthology, Facing the Sea. AW acted, at his request, as his literary agent for a few years, early 1960s.
